E-mail Print

HQOQuality in Primary Care: Setting a foundation for monitoring and reporting in Ontario measures the performance of the primary health care system that Ontarians rely on for their general health and well-being.

It is the first report featuring Health Quality Ontario’s new primary care performance indicators and the most comprehensive view of this sector undertaken so far. The selection of the indicators was the culmination of many years of work by the Primary Care Performance Measurement Advisory Committee.

Quality in Primary Care points the way for quality improvement in Ontario’s primary care system in areas such as access, illness prevention, chronic disease management, and care coordination. Data from these indicators will be updated regularly on HQO’s website and in future reports to foster transparency, accountability and quality improvement in the health system.
